Retirement
Overview
A carbon offset must be retired in order to actually receive credit for the emissions reduction. Through CarbonLink, offset retirement is quick, easy, and up to the user. Retiring offsets on the blockchain is as easy as triggering a burn function from within the token’s code, and is achieved with a click of a button. Upon retirement, users are granted a certificate in the form of an NFT proving that their offsets have been retired.
