Marketplace

Explained

The Marketplace is one of CarbonLink’s two purchasing interfaces. Through it, suppliers sell tokenized carbon offsets in the form of ERC-1155 tokens.

Users can explore offset batches from an array of different project developers, and engage in public or private (direct-to-consumer) trading. Additionally, our implementation of blockchain technology provides offset data that is unavailable in legacy carbon markets such as price history, MRV data, and registry documents that reduce information asymmetry amongst buyers and suppliers.

Fees

Traditional carbon markets incur extra fees for involved parties due to the inefficient intermediaries. The Marketplace bypasses brokerage fees by implementing P2P and B2B trading, so CarbonLink never charges project developers a sell-side fee.

Additionally, CarbonLink covers the blockchain transaction fees on behalf of our users. We utilize Polygon’s low-energy network to deliver speed, security, and scalability to the carbon markets. The only transaction fees collected are on the buy-side experience.
