Steps to Mint

Getting Started - Requirements to Bridge

Before onboarding offsets to the CarbonLink platform, project developers will need to make sure they can agree to the following statements:

  • I have set up a CarbonLink Supplier account.

  • The carbon offsets I wish to bridge are currently stored in a CarbonLink-approved Registry account. Our list of approved registries can be found here.

  • I have access to this Registry account and can transfer carbon offsets from within this account.

  • I have read through the Terms & Conditions for bridging offsets onto the CarbonLink platform.

  • I understand that after I bridge my offsets onto the CarbonLink platform, they can be retired on behalf of myself or those who have ownership over my offsets.

  • I also understand that after I bridge my offsets onto the CarbonLink platform, they can only be transferred back into your Registry account by a CarbonLink account representative.

Steps to Bridge

If you have verified offsets to bridge onto the platform, sign up for a CarbonLink Supplier account. Not only will you gain access to the CarbonLink Bridge, but you will also be able to view key insights about your assets and revenue in the Supplier Dashboard.

Once a Supplier account has been created, onboarding carbon offsets is a 3-step process that streamlines your ability to interact with our suite of trading and offsetting tools.

  • First, upon clicking the “Bridge” button, you will be asked to navigate to your approved Registry account dashboard and transfer the offsets you wish to bring over to our official Registry account before returning to the CarbonLink platform.

  • Then, on the CarbonLink Bridge, you will enter project identification information that enables us to track your offsets and verify with you that the information retrieved matches the offsets sent to our account.

  • At this point in the Bridge process, you will have the opportunity to either set a fixed price for the offsets you onboarded or skip this step and allow your offsets to hit the open market and sell to the highest bidder.

Once these steps are completed, you will be able to see the offsets you bridged on your Supplier Dashboard and interact with your listing as you please (i.e. update fixed price, toggle listing type, view past offset activity, and more).

Outcome

If the batch belongs to an existing project on the Marketplace, that batch will be added to the available project card, otherwise, a new project card will be created. Upon completing the Bridge pages for a new project batch, an ERC-1155 token will be minted to CarbonLink’s institutional wallet on behalf of the supplier via the ERC-1155 standard smart contract.
