Overview

The Exchange is another purchasing interface that CarbonLink offers. Through it, users can trade environmental assets in the form of ERC-20 tokens.

ERC-20 Explained

An ERC-20 token is the most popular type of cryptocurrency token standard. Essentially, it means that every token is homogenous, or can be exchanged with no difference in value, just like swapping two different $1 bills.

Anybody can create ERC-20 tokens and try to sell them, but CarbonLink’s exchange only lists a select group. The tokens listed on the exchange are verified and exclusively reduce & remove carbon or create positive impacts on the environment.
